Armstrong appointed to CTC board of trustees

Longtime Copperas Cove resident Eric Armstrong was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Central Texas College Board of Trustees. 
At a recent meeting, the board voted unanimously to approve Armstrong for Place 4, which had been vacant after the passing of Bill Bebee in December 2023.
“I’m honored to have been considered for this prestigious position,” said Armstrong. “I hope to be able to help advise on the roles and missions of CTC in keeping with the Trustees charter.”
Armstrong previously served on the CTC Foundation and is presently closing out a three-year term as Assistant Governor for Rotary District 5870, and is a longtime member of the Copperas Cove Rotary Club.
“As a CTC Trustee, I look forward to working with some very talented and impressive individuals to support CTC, its administration, its faculty, its student population, and our community."
He is a retired Lt. Col. from the U.S. Air Force, having served 23 years, retiring in 2009, and is the co-owner and associate broker for EXIT Heart of Texas Realty and Anthem Rentals. 
Armstrong holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Angelo State University and a master’s degree in Administration from Central Michigan University. 
Members of the CTC board of trustees serve in elected positions, for six-year terms. Place 4 expires in 2027.
Armstrong joins fellow Covite SFC (Ret.) James Pierce Jr. on the board. Pierce presently serves as the board’s vice-chair. Also serving are Charles Hollinger (Killeen); Jimmy Towers board chair (Killeen); Ernest Wilkerson (Killeen); Brenda Coley, Secretary (Killeen); and BG (Ret.) Rex Weaver, (Killeen).
The Central Texas College District includes the Killeen and Copperas Cove Independent School Districts. 
The Board’s regular meeting is generally held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Anderson Campus Center (Bldg. 156).
