Rains shorten junior high meet

Early evening rain showers Monday put a stop to the Centex Junior High District track meet at Bulldawg Stadium with most of the field events completed. Through the events that finished, three S.C. Lee Junior High seventh graders had earned first-place gold medals, including Quinton Ford, who leaped 5-8 for top spot in the boys high jump. On the girls side, Taleah Samuel took the discus title
with a toss of 76-3 1/2 and Oni Boodoo won the triple jump with her 32-4 effort.
