The Bulldawgs’ offense underwent wholesale changes when they lost nearly every starter to graduation, especially on the offensive side of the ball where just one starter returned. Consequently, the Dawgs struggled early to find their identity and continuity. They averaged 16 points a game on offense through the first three games of the season – albeit against stout opponents. The Dawgs averaged just 93 yards per game on 18 attempts and just over seven completions per game in the passing game. They also had a -4 turnover ratio.
