Linda Joyce Gamble, age 74 of Lampasas, TX died Monday June 30, 2014 at her home. Linda was born November 10, 1939 in Hopkinsville, KY the daughter of Arnold Durwood Gilliland and Allie Maude (Marquess) Gillialand. She married Wayne Gamble in March 1972. Linda graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan and earned a master’s degree in library science from University of Tennessee. She worked as school librarian for the Copperas Cove School District for over 23 years. Linda was a member of ST. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas, TX. Linda is survived by her husband, Wayne Gamble of Lampasas Sons; Buddy Francis and Michael Francis both of Hopkinsville, KY Daughter, Sandy Rich of Hopkinsville, KY Sister, Priscilla Wells of Elkton, KY 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren Linda was preceded in death by her parents and by 2 brothers; Freddie Gilliland and David Gilliland. Rosary will be recited Wednesday July 2, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday July 3, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas with Father Pedro Castillo officiating. Linda’s body will be cremated following the service and her remains will be buried at Dogwood Cemetery in Kentucky at a later date. Memorials may be sent to New Century Hospice in Harker Heights, TX.
