Bulldawgs lick wounds, look to get bite back against Dragons
By TJ MAXWELL
Learning is the most important thing at this point in the season, says Copperas Cove head football coachJack Welch. Often, you learn more from adversity and strife than you do from success. “We’re working to learn a lot about ourselves and it’s fun,” said Welch in front of a crowded Quarterback Club meeting at Lil-Tex Restaurant on Wednesday. “You won’t win every ball game you play. We have four practice ball games to get ready for district play. You’re going to have to overcome some adversity. You’re going to have to learn from those things. You learn about your character and who you are.” The Dawgs had a great opportunity for that learning when formerly state-ranked Lake Travis rolled through town last Friday and they’ll likely get more Friday when they travel to Dragon Stadium.
