Coryell County: Polls open 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday

Due to the icy weather on Thursday, polls for early voting opened at 10 a.m., and by 2 p.m., Coryell County Elections Administrator and Voter Registrar Justin Carothers announced that voting hours for the final two days of early voting would be adjusted.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Thursday in Copperas Cove, and will be open until 7 p.m. in Gatesville.
On Friday, Feb. 25, polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. in Copperas Cove at the Early Voting Center, located at 508B Cove Terrace Shopping Center. Polls are also open in Gatesville, at the Gatesville Annex, located at 801 E. Leon St.
By 5 p.m. Wednesday, a total of 2,420 Coryell County voters had made their way to the polls during early voting, which includes 1,314 voting in Copperas Cove and 1,106 in Gatesville, plus 200 mail-in ballots.
On Tuesday, March 1, polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., and county residents may vote at any location.
Copperas Cove polling locations include: Copperas Cove Civic Center, 1206 West Avenue ; Holy Family Catholic Church, 1001 Georgetown Rd.; Eastside Baptist Church, 1202 MLK Jr. Blvd. Other locations in Coryell County include the Gatesville Civic Center, 303 Veterans Memorial Loop; Evant City Hall, 598 E. Highway 84; Flat Community Center, 159 CR 334; Oglesby Community Center, 118 Main St.; and the Turnersville Community Center, 8115 F.M. 182.
Several key local opposed races for the Republican Primary ballot in Coryell County include that of County Commissioner, Precinct 2, with candidates Billy Vaden, Scott Weddle; County Commissioner, Precinct 4, with candidates Keith Taylor, Ray Ashby Jr. (Incumbent), Bradi Diaz; Coryell County Judge, Joey Acfalle, Jack Barcroft, Celia J. Sellers, Roger A. Miller (Incumbent).

Other Coryell County races are unopposed and include County Court at Law, John Lee; District Clerk, Becky Moore; County Clerk, Jennifer Newton; County Treasurer, Randi McFarlin; Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, John Guinn; Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, F.W. “Bill” Price; Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, Jim Caldwell; Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, Coy Latham.
There are no Democratic Party candidates on the ballot for Coryell County races, but there are a number for state races, to include:
Governor: Rich Wakeland, Inocencio (Inno) Barrientez, Joy Diaz, Michael Cooper, Beto O’Rourke.
Lieutenant Governor: Carla Brailey, Mike Collier, Michelle Beckley.
Attorney General: Mike Fields, Lee Merritt, S. “TBone” Raynor, Rochelle Mercedes Garza, Joe Jaworski.
Comptroller of Public Accounts: Tim Mahoney, Angel Luis Vega, Janet T. Dudding.

Commissioner of Agriculture: Ed Ireson, Susan Hays.
