Angel Maldonado-Barreiro, age 63, of Copperas Cove passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017.  Graveside Services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 28, 2017, with full military honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Visitation will be from 1-3 PM on Sunday at Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove.
Angel was born on July 20, 1954, in Utuado, Puerto Rico to Antonio and Antonia Barreiro Maldonado. He graduated high school in Puerto Rico before joining the United States Army in 1973. Angel served for 20 years and retired in 1993 at Fort Hood. After retirement, he made his home in Copperas Cove and pursued his real estate license at Central Texas College. Angel enjoyed playing pool and was on multiple pool leagues in Killeen.
Angel was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Maldonado.
Angel is survived by his children, Bianka Russell, Dezeree Coin and husband, Kevin, Zhacinia Prieto and husband, SSG Alex Prieto, Marissa Pashilk and husband, Trent; mother, Antonia Maldonado-Barreiro; brothers, Jose, Carlos, Jesus, Pedro, Ivan; sisters, Wanda, Isabel, Olga;  12 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove is in charge of arrangements.
