In celebration of Grandparents Day, Williams/Ledger Elementary School along with other campuses in CCISD opened their cafeteria doors so grandparents could enjoy lunch with their grandchildren.
This year’s Grandparents Day on that campus had 394 grandparents in attendance. Last year’s total was 254. Both children and grandparents were excited to see each other with many of the kids showing off their grandparents to their friends.
“It really means a lot to the kids,” said Murry Bridges who attended lunch with his grandson LJ Owens (5) who is in kindergarten. “It lets them know that they have support.”
