Incoming Rabbit Fest pageant title holders will have a brighter smile, thanks to Cove Total Dental who is providing a new technology teeth whitening service as part of their sponsorship package to the 2016 Rabbit Fest Scholarship Pageant.

“We are excited to be a part of the Copperas Cove community,” Cassie Watson said. “We currently make visits to the schools to provide dental hygiene education so it was a natural progression to join the pageant family and support a program that was named one of the top three best in Texas.”

Reigning Mexia Hopkins is a current patient of the dental office and members of the staff are currently registered to compete in the pageant set for May 14 at Lea Ledger Auditorium.

“When Mexia’s mother brought the sponsorship package to us during a visit we were excited to participate,” she said. “Community service is a key factor in the pageant and one of the reasons we decided to join. We are here to help provide educational material if someone wants to take the platform and promote dental education.”

Dental Hygienist Francesa Allison gave a briefing to the royalty on the proper ways to brush and care for their teeth. “You have to brush for two minutes each time,” said Allison. “You can sing a song in your head, count or there are event toothbrushes that are timed and aps that will send a message to your phone to let you know that your brushed for the proper time.”

Contestants completed their walk through during rehearsal, before current titleholders practiced their opening routine Sunday and will have just over a week before taking the stage for the competition. Tickets are on sale for both general admission and reserved seating.  Reserved tickets in advance are $8, and will be $10 at the door.  General Admission are $5 on the website and will be $8 at the door.

Doors open at noon for the children’s pageant and the auditorium will remain open for the evening pageant set to begin at 7 p.m.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to come together as a whole,” said Watson. “We are a big family here and will be in the audience cheering on our staff who is competing. She is a great pillar in our office and know that if she were to win would be a great pillar in the community with her platform of service.”
