Suzanne Coleman McDonnell

Suzanne McDonnell, 65, of Copperas Cove passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 in Gatesville surrounded by her family. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove. She will be placed to rest at Milford Cemetery on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM in Milford, Kansas.

 

Suzanne was born on December 4, 1950 to the late Alexander Joseph and Anna Grace Damico McDonnell. She graduated from Junction City High School in Junction City, Kansas in 1968. Suzanne married Ronnie Coleman on November 4, 1972 in Ft. Riley, Kansas. Suzanne retired from working on Ft. Hood after three decades of service.

 

She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her contagious laughter and her home cooking. Suzanne loved mothering young soldiers and many called her mother.

 

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Ralph Hadway; sisters, Jeannie Zwick and Grace Connelly.

 

Suzanne is survived by her son, Scott Coleman and wife, Christina; her former husband and lifelong friend, Ron Coleman; sisters, Linda McDonnell, Anna Marie Hoyt; her best friend, Teresa Richardson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove is in charge of arrangements.
