Sales tax up 5.8% for state, down 1.24% for Cove

Texas Comptroller Susan Combs said Wednesday that state sales tax revenue in February was up for the state as a whole 5.8 percent to $2.2 million compared to February of 2013. The City of Copperas Cove however continues to lose ground slipping 1.24 percent for the same time period. Coryell County is allocated $438,395.68 in sales tax for the month with Copperas Cove bringing in $306,581.76, Gatesville earning 131,113.44 and Oglesby receiving $700.48 in sales. Oglesby had the largest jump for the county earning more than 23 percent more than Feb. of 2013 that netted $450.71.
