Cove Boys’ 200-yard medley relay breaks school record
By TJ MAXWELL
The Copperas Cove AquaDawgs notched a third-place team finish at the Killeen ISD Mary Jobe Christmas Classic swim meet Saturday at the Clements Boys and Girls Club in Killeen. The boys’ team notched a second-place finish, led by the medley relay team of Joseph Hotz, Emmanuel Thompson, Christopher Hastings and Kyle Helmer. The medley relay broke a Cove school record by swimming to a fourthplace finish in the event with a time of 1:53.37. “The boys’ team is looking strong and I expect them to break more school records as the season progresses,” said Copperas Cove head swim coach Trish Stoddard. “Next year we have several returning swimmers so we should continue to be competitive in our District.”
