Strike Zone has finally opened for business here in Copperas Cove. Long awaited and highly desired, the business co-owned by Rodney Macomber and Steve Pronodost has the latest state-of-the-art batting cages and facilities in the area. Located just off 190 on F.M. 2657, the business has installed equipment designed to help any baseball player, or would-be player, tune up their timing when facing pitchers. Several of the batting cages include automatic pitching machines for both baseball and softball with fully adjustable pitch speeds. They have a very unique cage with equipment that not only does acrossthe-plate pitches, it is also adjustable to allow the batter to work on sliders, curve balls and more. One feature very new to the industry is currently being installed. It is a television camera which records a batter’s performance and allows playback so that stance and swing errors can be readily identified and analyzed. Batters can decide to join the pitching club at Strike Zone and receive discounts on their practice time, or simply pay as they go depending on how long they wish to practice. Expert help is available for those who request it and private lessons are also available to aid in body mechanics, stance and hand-eye coordination. Strike Zone is open seven days a week. Hours are Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 8 p.m. Teams can rent the entire building and facilities for exclusive use on Sundays from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Rodney Macomber invites everyone to stop in and look at what Strike Zone has to offer. Their phone number is 254-289-5422.
