The Copperas Cove Post Office joined together with Cove residents to continue their annual mission to “Stamp Out Hunger”.
In 2015, Copperas Cove collected just over 4,000 pounds of food. This year, Cove’s postal workers, CCHS students, and the general Cove public managed to collect a whopping 13,677 pounds of food. After collection, the food was delivered to Baptist Benevolence, Cove House, and My Brother’s House where it will be put to good use feeding those in need.
“It’s one of the primary places we get food from throughout the year,” said Brian Hawkins, the Executive Director of Cove House. “It’s a tremendous help to us.”
