On Friday at Hettie Halstead Elementary School in Copperas Cove, the sun was shining bright as students came outside to the front parking lot to spend time thanking first responders. Members of the Copperas Cove Fire Department, Emergency Medical Technicians and a representative from the Coryell County Sherriff’s Office were there to meet with the students. They cycled each grade outside, and once there the students got to shake the hands of the first responders, and thank them for what they do.
