Annual 5K draws more than 165 contestants for run through urban jungle.

The Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce drew 168 contestants to their annual Gallop or Trot 5K run sponsored by H-EB Plus, one of three races held in the city for the 16 scheduled races of the Centex Race Series. Contestants started at the Copperas Cove Civic Center, turning on Ave. B, Courtney Lane and onto Dekort circle, N 23rd, Fairbanks and back onto Courtney until the turnaround spot, finding their way back to the city park, finishing at the civic center.
