Who do you like in the Super Bowl?

Just go ahead and pick one, because with two Texas high schoolers playing quarterback we know it’ll be a good show.
What I like about Sunday’s matchup is not how the Kansas City Chief’s Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts of Philadelphia are both highly skilled, which they are, but they’re both what a team needs in a game like this.
Each one is as tough as a truckstop steak.
Mahomes played through a painful foot injury to get his team this far, while Hurts dealt with a shoulder injury, then came back, probably too soon, to lead the Eagles past San Francisco two weeks ago.
Both these guys came up hard. After playing for his Dad at Channelview High, Hurts went to Alabama where he lost his job, then transferred to.ugh...oklahoma and won the Heisman Trophy.
He could have gone anywhere, like Texas...but nooo (have you noticed I don’t care for Oklahoma?)
After leaving Whitehouse High School, Mahomes played at Texas Tech, was drafted by Kansas City and the rest is history.
Speaking of history, we’ve got to mention two former Copperas Cove Bulldawgs who’ve been to the big dance. Super Bowl XLIX featured a TCU ex named Josh Boyce who was on the New England Patriots roster. He’s got the ring to prove it, which he let my wife try on at a football banquet....and then...
There was Charles (Peanut) Tillman, a 15-year veteran of an outfit known to their Chicago fan base as “Da Bears.” Peanut was in Super Bowl 41 against Indianapolis. He perfected a move known as “The Peanut Punch,” which was responsible for many a fumble.
Charles was named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in 2013 for his charitable work and after retiring from football took on a new career as an FBI Special Agent.
But he hasn’t forgotten his roots. This past season, he sent a video to the Copperas Cove football team outlining what it takes to be a Dawg and what it means to be a Bulldawg.
So, yes, we’ve had guys in the big show...and now you want my prediction for Sunday...
I’ll go with the Chiefs, since they were once the Dallas Texas.
Surely you don’t think I’d ever pick Philadelphia for anything, except as a place to get a pretty good cheesesteak, do you?
Go Dawgs!
