U.S. 190 bypass around Copperas Cove to close temporarily on Thursday

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announced on Tuesday that it will temporarily close the I-14/US 190 Valley Bridge in Copperas Cove, Thursday, March 5.
The closure is so that a temporary barrier, installed after a multi-vehicle crash damaged a portion of the bridge railing, can be removed and the new railing section can be installed.
"All eastbound and westbound I-14 traffic will detour through Copperas Cove via Business 190 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.," stated Kenneth Roberts, with TxDOT's Waco District. "Motorists can expect some congestion and temporary delays during the repair process."
The crash took place in July 2019, and at that time, Roberts said that a temporary barrier would be installed, as a new section to replace the damage had to be refabricated.
