AquaDawgs relish pool time at Mary Jobe Christmas Classic
By TJ MAXWELL
KILLEEN – Pool time is a commodity for the Copperas Cove AquaDawgs swim team. With no hometown training facility and restricted access to the only competition pool to regularly train at, the AquaDawgs relish any opportunity to get in the pool competitively.
The team gets just three days a week to train in the pool at Central Texas College and are landlocked for two more days of dry-land training at the school. That makes it hard to compete with teams like Belton and Midway that have their own facilities and the greater Austin teams that have multiple facilities. Even the Killeen schools have access to the Clements Boys and Girls Club pool.
