GRANBURY - The No. 8 (TGCA) and No. 13 (TABC) Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs improved to 13-2 on the season with a strong 62-48 win over the Granbury Lady Pirates on the road Tuesday night.
The Lady Dawgs held a six-point advantage, 34-28, heading into the second half and the Lady Pirates cut that lead to just one-point heading into the final frame.
The Lady Dawgs took advantage of the Lady Pirates’ foul trouble to pull away for the 14-point win.
The Lady Dawgs conclude their non-district slate tonight with another road game against Manor.
The Lady Dawgs dominated the Lady Mustangs at home last year in a 72-38 route.
A win tonight would send the Lady Dawgs into District 8-6A play on a six-game win-streak when they travel to face the Belton Lady Tigers (5-4) next Friday.
The Lady Dawgs will then have a huge test on Tuesday, Dec. 12 when they host the No. 4 (TGCA) and No. 10 (TABC) Waco Midway Pantherettes (8-2).
