Cove swats Belton to close out 12-6A

For eight Copperas Cove Lady Dawg seniors, it was their last opportunity to play on their home court and they made it count, despite fighting back emotions most of the night. Seniors Mikayla Blount, Lexi Perez, Savannah Cook, Shana Young, Lily Drever, Ciara Cheadle, Destinee Branch and Raelynn Morris-Utu all finished their high school careers in Bulldawg Gymnasium in the 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-13) win. “It’s emotional and it’s kind of exciting because we made it,” said senior captain Mikayla Blount who notched her 19th double-double of the year in the sweep. “It’s unreal that it’s almost done. The team chemistry and playing for coach (Cari) Lowery - that’s a big thing I’m going to miss and the support that the crowd gives us.”
