The Lady Dawgs did everything right – except get the ball through the cylinder. Copperas Cove out-hustled, outrebounded and out-played the Killeen Lady Roos in the District 12-6A opener on Friday at Bulldawg Gymnasium but came away on the losing end of a 56-50 score. The Lady Dawgs shot 34 percent from the field and nine percent from three-point range. They also were 53 percent from the free throw line. “It wasn’t a lack of effort on our part,” said Copperas Cove head coach Eldridge McAdams. “There were just certain little things I thought we needed to do and we didn’t do and one of them was free throws. I think we were 8-for-16 there and that’s not good. We just have to concentrate and play our game.”
