Despite suffering their first loss to Shoemaker in the history of the Grey Wolves’ program, the Bulldawgs locked up their 12-th consecutive playoff spot thanks the Harker Heights Knights’ 38-10 win over the Killeen Kangaroos. If the ‘Roos won their last two games it would have eliminated the Bulldawgs from playoff contention but the loss to the Knights locked the Dawgs into the postseason.
“This part’s all over,” Cove head coach Jack Welch said after their loss to Shoemaker. “It’s kind of like the non-district. It prepares you for district. We went 0-4 in non-district and in district we went 3-3 so that’s a definite improvement. So now, let’s get on a win streak in the post season and see if we can get on the winning end of that.”
