Cove wrestling hosts Shoemaker

The Copperas Cove wrestling team began their 2014-15 season with a match at home against the Shoemaker Grey Wolves. Getting the evening started right for the Dawgs were Ariel Lewis and 2014 state-qualifier Lane Teeter who each earned pins over their opponents to get Cove off to a 2-0 start, but Shoemaker rallied for the 7-4 match win. “All the kids that wrestled tonight put forth a lot of effort and scrapped to the very end,” said Copperas Cove head wrestling Jeremy Shannon. “I am proud of that effort. We have lots of room for improvement though.” Lewis pinned her opponent in the 128-pound class, Aiyana Parish, with 11 seconds remaining in the first period to secure the win.
