Cove wrestlers head to state

Erinn Sewell has made history for Copperas Cove High School.
The sophomore is the first Regional Wrestling Champion in school history after her win at regionals.
Sewell, along with fellow Copperas Cove wrestlers, competed at the 6A Region 4 tournament and qualified for state.
Her record going into the state competition is an impressive 32-3 in the 165 weight class.
Corbin Porter, a junior, likewise qualified, taking 2nd in the 126 weight class. His record during the regular season was 24-9.
Evelyn Stack, a junior, took 4th place in the 235 weight class and her record stands at 21-6.
Darlene Smith took 5th place and qualified as a state alternate in the 185 weight class. The senior has a 20-8 record.
The state meet is Feb. 16-17 at Cypress-Fairbanks ISD’s Berry Center.
