Cove’s Carter named to TGCA All-State team for second year

Copperas Cove shortstop Jayda Carter was recently named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 6A Softball All-State Team for the second consecutive year.
The junior was selected to the team as a sophomore and returned to the lineup after leading the Lady Dawgs back to the playoffs this year.
Carter finished the district season with a .642 batting average. She had with 27 hits, 24 RBIs, and 16 runs. She also notched four home runs and eight doubles.
Carter joins fellow juniors and District 8-6A rivals Avery Drake and Kaylee Robinson of Belton on the squad.
