Cove’s Brittain among those selected to coach the FCA Victory Bowl

Copperas Cove head baseball coach Dusty Brittain has turned a struggling program into a perennial playoff contender and was recently recognized for his efforts with a selection to coach the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Red Team coaching staff.
Brittain will join Bremond’s Taylor Rowe and Mart’s Kyle Stone on the staff of the Red team while Robinson’s Bryan Kent, Groesbeck’s Cameron Sellstrom and Jarrell’s Dean Fitzner will coach the Blue team in the third annual baseball contest.
Other are coaches selected to participate in the FCA Victory Bowl were Lampasas’ Troy Rogers and Drew Cleavinger along with Temple’s Scott Stewart and Landon Wesley.
Rogers will coach on the Blue team for the football game and Cleavinger will coach the Blue softball team. Stewart will man the Red team for football and Wesley will coach on the Red team in the inaugural golf tournament added to the lineup this year.

Red Football: Terry Crawford – Abbott, Jeremy Calahan – CTCS, Charles Steele – Covington and Robert Little – Riesel
Blue Volleyball: Kelsi Reynolds - Robinson and Natalie Friesen – Live Oak
Red Volleyball: Rachel Melancon – Troy and Shana Steinmetz - Italy
Blue Softball: Aaron Kinney – Kerens and Megan Nieuwenhuis – Rosebud-Lott
Red Softball: Andrea Holdbrook – McGregor, Mike Carranza – Holy Trinity and Lisa Czajkowski – China Spring
Blue Golf: Carl Thomas – University and Sara Mabile – Waco
Red Golf: Harvie Welch – Midway
Cheer squads will once again be led by Tammy Bush from Riesel HS and Patricia Leach from Hamilton HS. February 11th, all 2018 Victory Bowl participants will be presented to the public at Highland Baptist Church (3014 Maple Avenue, Waco, TX). The Inaugural Golf Tournament will be June 5th. The date for this year’s games are June 8h and 9th. The baseball and softball games will be played June 8 at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor at 6:30 p.m. The volleyball game will be played June 9 at University High School at 12:30 p.m. and the football game will be played June 9 at the Waco ISD Stadium with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.
