Larisa Perez is continuing to receive accolades, even during the softball offseason.
On Saturday, the 2022 Texas Sports Writers Association Class 6A All-State Softball First Team was announced, and Perez was named to the All-State First Team for 3rd base.
In addition, Perez received awards to include the Golden Glove Award - Defensive Player of the Year, Batting Award - Offensive Player of the Year, and the Lady Dawg Most Valuable Player of the Year.
In May, Perez was named Co-Offensive Player of the Year for 12-6A, joining 21 other players from the eight district teams for that First Team.
Perez had words of thanks on receiving this newest round of awards.
“This is a huge honor and I appreciate all the support I have from the Copperas Cove community. I honestly couldn’t have done this without my team and my Coach. Coach Waller has been a huge part in making this possible for me and I feel so honored to have him believe in me so much,” said Perez. “I will continue to make Coach Waller, my teammates and my family proud.”
Perez added that making the All-State team is one step closer to making her college dream come true, playing on McCombs field as a Longhorn softball player.
This year, the Lady Dawgs finished the season with 15-16-1 record.
