Bulldawgs hold off Tigers 74-57; earn third-straight playoff berth

The home court has not been too kind to the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs this year. They hadn’t had a home win since defeating Midway in the district opener on Jan. 6. That trend looked like it may continue on Tuesday after the Belton Tigers rallied from 11 points down to force a tie at 31-all with just 39.2 seconds remaining in the first half. “We came out slow, which I was afraid of,” said head coach Billy White Jr. “I guess we can’t schedule any games in Copperas Cove next year. Every time we play at home, we come out slow and sluggish like that.” White was determined to halt that trend. A stern talking to sparked his team to a 40- 26 second half, dominating performance and the 74-57 victory.
