Procession escorts Sgt. Darrell McDonald back to Copperas Cove

Motorists are stopped on the side of F.M. 116 on Monday morning as a procession escorts the body of Sgt. Darrell McDonald back to Copperas Cove. Sgt. McDonald passed away on Thursday, Dec. 2. Sgt. McDonald, who worked for the Coryell County Sheriff's Office, was a 1995 graduate of CCHS, and he served in the United States Air Force and U.S. Army. He was a past Worshipful Master of Mt. Hiram Masonic Lodge in Copperas Cove. 
A lie in repose for Sgt. McDonald will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 211 W Avenue B, Copperas Cove. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 9:30 AM at First Baptist Church, 300 W Ave B, Copperas Cove. Interment service will follow with Military, Masonic and Police Honors at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
