Spencer D. Jasper, 69, of Copperas Cove passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 in Temple surrounded by loved ones. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 on Tuesday, October, 30, 2014 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Spencer was born on March 11, 1945 in Exeter, New Hampshire. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam aboard the USS Enterprise and the USS Kitty Hawk. Spencer retired after 20 years of service and later retired again after another 15 years of employment with AAFES. He was a huge fan of car racing and spent many years racing an IMCA stock car at Texas Thunder Speedway. Spencer also was a master carpenter and enjoyed camping during his retirement. Spencer is survived by his wife, Linda Jasper of Copperas Cove; daughters, Paula McGregor and husband, Greg of Lampasas, April Johnson and husband Ron of Copperas Cove; grandchildren, Corey Sharman and wife Destiney, Lindsey Sharman, Ashley Johnson and Haley Cobb; great grandsons, Brody and Wyatt Sharman and a close friend, Aleta Carroll. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove is in charge of the arrangements.
