Slayton Scott Seward

God graced this world with Slayton Scott Seward on November 14, 1988 in Fredericksburg, Texas. His Lord and Savior welcomed him home on September 8, 2016 from Copperas Cove, Texas.

 

Slayton lived the first 12 years of his life in Llano before moving to Copperas Cove in 2001. Slayton was known to all who loved him for his intelligence and his passion for politics. He was the first student in Copperas Cove High School to be named TAKS Master for achieving academic excellence on all of his tests; an honor that he repeated the following year. He was forever a champion for unborn children and for the mentally ill.

 

Slayton developed Pandas syndrome as a young child and as a result he faced enormous difficulties throughout his life. He fought bravely for so many years and through it all he never lost his love and compassion for everyone around him, even in his weakest moments. He was an amazing person. 

 

Left behind to cherish Slayton’s memories are; his beloved brother, Nathaniel Roberts; his precious sister, Shayna Seward; his Dad and mother, Bruce and Martha Roberts; his grandparents, Gene and Loreta Oestreich and Nancy Roberts; his brothers, Michael (Alyssa) and Jason Roberts; his uncles, Rickey Oestreich (LaKay) and Barton Oestreich (Julie); his aunt, Cheryl Roberts; his cousins, Kelly Oestreich (Stasia), Hank Oestreich (Kayla), Richard Oestreich (Jennifer), Jason Oestreich, Isaac Carver and Samantha and Salena Oestreich; his dearest friend, Megan Green; his father, Ron Seward and wife Debbie; his brothers, Tim Seward (Melissa) and Darrell Boyd (Cara); his sister, Dana Catala (Mike); his aunt Melba Robello (Tom); his uncle, Donald Seward (Judy).

 

Waiting for Slayton in Heaven were his Papa, Morris Roberts; grandparents, John and Ona Seward; his aunt, Sue Oestreich; his uncle, David Roberts; his sister, Kimberly; and his cantankerous dog, Chi-Chi.

 

Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, September 16, at Waldrope Hatfield Hawthorne Funeral Chapel with Reverend Stacy Nobles officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Pallbearers: Rickey Oestreich, Barton Oestreich, Kelly Oestreich, Hank Oestreich, Richard Oestreich, and Mike Catala. Honorary Pallbearers: Tim Seward, Darrell Boyd, Michael Roberts, Jason Roberts and Isaac Carver.
