Louis ‘P.O.’ Dewald
Services for Louis “P.O.” Dewald of Copperas Cove will be at 2:00pm Friday, April 3rd at Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove. He died March 31st at Scott and White Hospital in Temple surrounded by his family and friends. He was born December 27, 1946 in Lampasas to parents, Louis and Iris Dewald. He was a lifelong resident and supporter of Copperas Cove. He graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1965 where he excelled at football, basketball, baseball, track, and golf. After graduation he married the former Shiela Rogers on August 7, 1965. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1968 and settled back in Copperas Cove. He was a successful developer, home builder, school builder, and rancher for over 40 years. He was also a long time supporter of Copperas Cove Athletics, civic organizations, economic development, and volunteered as a little league coach. He has lived on his family ranch, “Falls Creek Ranch,” since 2001. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, golf, team roping, and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Sheila Dewald, 3 children, Jeff Dewald and wife Sylvia, Dustin Dewald and wife Tiffany, Jodi Anderson and husband Bret, 6 grandchildren, Davis Dewald, Riki- Ann Dewald, Drew Dewald, D.J. Dewald, Bryce Anderson, Jayce Anderson, and 2 sisters, Carole Curtis and husband Chuck, and Coleen Timmons and husband Rick, and many many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Copperas Cove Education Foundation. Arrangements are entrusted to Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Copperas Cove.
