Karen Perkins, 58, of Copperas Cove, passed away on Dec. 6, 2016. She was born on Feb. 16, 1958, in St. Charles, IL. To Kenneth and Dorothy Elliott (Adkerson). She married Michael A. Perkins on March 10, 1981, in Las Vegas, NV. Karen was a hospice caregiver and dedicated much of her time to assisting veterans, and served as part of the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post 8577. Karen is survived by her partner, Mike Tingley, of Copperas Cove; two daughters, Betty Sawyer (Timothy) of Kempner, TX; Tia Brundage (Brian) of Las Vegas, NV; a son, Michael Perkins Jr (Laura) of Palm Springs, CA; twin sister Sharon Miller (Randy) of Dallas, GA.; sister Nancy Chism (Russell), of Halls, TN.; brother John Elliott (Jan) of Hiram, GA; sister-in-law Sandra Elliott of DeKalb, IL; Step-brothers Mark and Leroy Clark, Step-sisters Alice Wertz and Jan Hearns Davenport (Harold); 18 grandchildren altogether, and one non-biological great-grandchild. She is also survived by numerous children who called her “mom” to include Sven Tingley (Crystal), of Cypress, TX; Kimberly Smith (Russell), Lampasas, TX; Brian Tingley (Kim), of Kempner, TX; B.K., of Decatur, TX; David Jackson (Audessa) , of San Antonio,TX; and Shawna Stiever, of Clutier, IA. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband, Michael A. Perkins; brother, David Elliott; a sister, Mary Elliott-Layne.
