Jerry Joan Cobern, 76, of Cedar Park, Texas passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014 in Round Rock. Jerry Joan was born on March 2, 1938 in Huntington, West Virginia to Kermit and Ruby Stiltner Osborne. She married Charles Cobern in 1956 in Huntington, West Virginia. Mrs. Cobern worked for 28 years in Civil Service for the Corps of Engineers on Ft. Hood, Texas before retirement. She loved her faith in God and enjoyed life after retirement, spending time with family and friends and traveling with her husband. Jerry Joan also loved playing games on the computer and keeping up with friends on facebook. Jerry Joan is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Charles, sons Chuck Cobern of Cedar Park, Mark Cobern of Cedar Park, daughters Karen Lara of Copperas Cove, Brenda Krusely of Round Rock, and Kelly Smith of Copperas Cove. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a nephew Jeremy Osborne. Services for Mrs. Cobern will be held at 10:00 AM Friday September 19,2014 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove with Rev. Frank Somero, Jr. officiating, with burial to follow at Copperas Cove City Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation in her honor. Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove is in charge of the arrangements.
