A funeral for Dorothy Louise Smith Rydzak, 87, of Lindale, was held on Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. in Lindale. She was buried at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Tyler. She died Aug. 27 in Tyler. Dorothy Louise Smith was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Kempner to Zachariah Henry “Zack” Smith and Lou Tichia Casteel. She married Francis Raymond Rydzak on July 2, 1957, in Lampasas. She was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She loved nature and animals and was a member of the Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA) and Den Mother for Cub Scouts in Lindale. She is survived by her husband of 57 years; Francis Rydzak of Lindale; four sons, Stephen Rydzak and wife, Diane of Tyler, Michael Kelly of Lindale, Timothy Rydzak of Lindale and Gregory Rydzak and wife, Cynthia of Longview; two grandsons, Andrew Rydzak of Fairbanks, Alaska and Patrick Rydzak of Tyler; nephews and nieces, William Ray Smith and Karen Sue Smith of Lampasas, Leon Malcolm Dewald and wife, Myra Louise Culbertson Dewald, Monty Dewight Dewald and wife, Jacquelyn Jones Dewald of Copperas Cove, Joe Dewayne Smithwick and wife, Nelda Dewene Clinton Smithwick, Kenneth Dale Smithwick and wife, Mary Katherine Frank Smithwick of Lampasas, Ronny Lee Fritz and Mary Thelma Fritz Moore and husband, George K. Moore of Copperas Cove, Jack D. Smith, Jill Elaine Smith Ritchie, and John Earl Smith of California; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Thelma Anna Smith Hammack and husband, Julius Row Hammack of Killeen, Lora Sue Smith Dewald and husband, Joy Robert Dewald of Copperas Cove, Margaret Elizabeth Templeton Smith and husband, Hubert Dean Smith of Los Angeles, Calif., Sara Lucille Smith Smithwick and husband, Allen Joseph Smithwick of Lampasas, Ruth Vivian Templeton of Los Angeles, Calif., Annie Mae Smith of Kempner, Peggy Eloise Smith Fritz and husband, Leroy Ervin Fritz of Copperas Cove; and brothers, Raymond Dalford Smith and wife, Loveta Mae Brown Smith of Lampasas and John Elton Smith of Kempner; and nephews, Julius Lavelle Hammack of Killeen and Jimmie Claude Smithwick of Lampasas. Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale was in charge of arrangements.
