Funeral services for Clara “C.J.” Ogas 83, of Copperas Cove passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in Lampasas, TX Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00am Tuesday , September 13, 2016 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen, TX. Funeral service will follow at 10:00am on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen, TX. Burial will follow to the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, TX.
She was born 21 Jan. 1933 in Somers, Point, N.J. She moved to Salem NJ. , graduating in 1951 from Salem High School. She then joined the US Air Force (WAFS), then women and men were separated. She went to Ft. Knox KY, met Her Husband to be M/SGT Max B. Ogas at the NCO, was unhappy because they no longer have on base. They married in November 1953 at Offat Air Force Base, Nebraska and then went to Ft. Hood, Ft. Polk, Ft. Knox, Germany, and Panama. It was there that Max became a Command Sargent Major, CSM. CJ worked at the NCO club at fort Hood, retired in 1993and worked as a school crossing guard for 5 years. She was a member of RSMA, VFW (Copperas Cove), and at a time she was a member of the police and Firefighters Academy. CJ was a loving and caring spouse, supportive of her husband until his passing in 2013.
She is survived by her son Joseph Ogas of Copperas Cove, one sister and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Max and John Paul, her mother, father, and brother. She has one Sister Joan Labriola, of Pennsville, N.J. No flowers please, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors.
