Callie Janice Yarborough

Janice Yarborough, age 69, of Copperas Cove passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Scott’s Funeral Home in Copperas Cove with burial following at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the funeral home.

 

Janice was born on August 1, 1947 in Abbeville, SC as the only child to the late Samuel and Jacqueline Graham Campbell. She graduated from Abbeville High School in 1965. She met Thomas Yarbrough while he was home on leave, and they later married on January 22, 1968. Janice joined Thomas as he served in the United States Army. They were stationed in several places in the US and two tours in Germany. After Thomas retirement in 1983, they settled in Copperas Cove. In 1985, she completed the Nursing School Program in Gatesville. Janice worked for 15 years at the VA Hospital in Temple until she had to medically retire during her first battle of cancer. Janice was an active member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Kempner. She was also active with the Benevolence House on Thursday’s, singing at the nursing homes on Friday’s, and volunteered at the public library in her spare time.

 

Janice is survived by husband, Thomas Ray Yarborough; sons, Anthony Yarborough and wife, Katti of Frankfort, KY, Travis Yarborough of Copperas Cove; three grandchildren, Jolene, Jewles, and Laz.
