Bettie Ronne, age 76, passed away at home in Kempner surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 29, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Copperas Cove with Chaplin Sarah Miller will be officiating.
Bettie was born on August 24, 1939 in Panola County, Mississippi to the late Edward and Gladys Cook Hodges. She went to school in Crowder, Mississippi and later graduated from Central Texas College with her nursing degree. Bettie’s career spanned many years. During her career she delivered lots of babies at Darnell. She retired after many years as a long term care Director of Nurses. Bettie attended both Southern Hills and Clear Creek Baptist Church.
Bettie was not only the rock of the family; she was also “Meme” to so many others who sought out her love, friendship, and advice. Those who met Bettie were touched by her heart of gold and her loving spirit and will never forget the beautiful soul she was. She will be forever loved and greatly missed by all.
Bettie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Elifritz; and a nephew, Ric Patterson.
Bettie is survived by her son, Butch Ronne and wife, Nancy of Copperas Cove; daughter, Cynthia Sue Stamps of Kempner; grandchildren, Amanda Jones and husband, Craig, George Ronne IV and their mother, Lisa Ronne, Emily Rivera, Erin Rivera; sisters, Jo Patterson and Sandra Ware and husband, Lonnie; nephews, John Patterson, Randy Ware; and nieces, Karen Patterson, Bettie Dillard.
The Ronne family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Southern Care Hospice including Megan, Beth, Brenda, Catherine, Sarah and Carolyn.
