Alphonso Al Taylor
Alphonso (Al) Taylor, son of Willard Taylor and Evon Viney was born in Stringtown, Oklahoma on April 11, 1936. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 after a beautiful life of service to God, Family and Humanity. Having been reared in a Christian home, he accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Oak Hill Baptist Church, Kempner, Texas prior to his illness. He was one of three children. His parents, sister and brother have preceded him in death. He attended school in Oklahoma and Missouri. He joined the United States Army and retired with twenty one years of service. While serving in the Army he was united in marriage to Opal, August 25, 1971. He graduated in 1974 from Oklahoma Farriers’ College. He was President in 1999 of the American Association of Sheriff Posses & Riding Clubs, President of the Cove Saddle Club, active Trail Boss on Al Taylor’s trail rides. He was on the Kempner Water Board of Directors. Al Taylor leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Opal Taylor. Sons: Michael (Valerie), Kenneth (Kathy), Mark andPhillip. Daughters: Charlotte, Jennifer, Joanie, Jackie (Carl) and Shelia. Army family: Lloyd Antoine (Denise), Ricardo Jones and Wilma Reese. Twenty-five grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister’s son Frank Douglas Jr and his brother’s daughter Vicky Watkins/Fuller.
