Parks director names TAAF local athlete of the year

Copperas Cove Parks and Recreation director Joseph Pace honored two young athletes Tuesday night, naming them the TAAF local athlete of the year. Both Jason Valois and Gabby Emeana will advance to the regional level of competition seeking additional accolades for their work on and off the field. Valois, 7, has learned to play basketball; flag football, soccer and baseball all since age 3.
“From a young age, Jason demonstrated a god-given gift of natural sports ability and a highly competitive nature,” said Pace. “He is a strong team leader as well as an outstanding role model for his teammates, friends and little sister.”
