The screams were deafening in the House Creek Elementary School gymnasium on Monday, but there was no sporting event going on. They were yelling at the top of their lungs in support of healthy food choices like Super Apple, Carrot Stick and Fanny Fruitsalad. A special presentation kicked off National School Lunch Week where for one week each year, Copperas Cove schools are dedicated to showcasing the National School Lunch Program and demonstrating how important it is for students to eat a well-balanced lunch, CCISD Child Nutrition Director Melissa Murray- Paez said.
