Early voting began on Monday for the Copperas Cove city council Place 2 runoff election, with election day set for Saturday, Dec. 14.
Polls will be open 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and Dec. 9-10.
Polls are located at the Copperas Cove Early Voting Center, 508-B Cove Terrace.
On election day, Saturday, Dec. 14, polls will be open 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
So far through Friday, Dec. 6, a total of 154 votes had been cast, which includes 19 mail-in ballots. Lampasas County voters may vote at the Copperas Cove early voting center.
Candidates are Victor Perry Hall II and Rita Hogan were part of a three-way race in the Nov. 5 election, along with George Duncan.
In the Nov. 5 race, Hogan received 4,532 votes and Hall received 2,635, with Duncan receiving 2,228. Hogan did not receive a 50 percent-plus-one majority vote in that race, so it was necessary for the council to declare a runoff after canvassing the votes at the Nov. 19 city council meeting.
