Election filing closed on Monday, Aug. 19 for the Nov. 5 general elections for the Copperas Cove city council and the Copperas Cove Independent School District board of trustees.

Place 1 on the Copperas Cove city council is currently held by Joann Courtland, who is also term limited.

Christina Strohfus and Howard Hawk have filed to run for Place 1.
