February has lineup of county, state, and Congressional candidate events

With the start of the March 5 primary early voting a little less than three weeks away, Copperas Cove and Coryell County voters will have the opportunity to meet a number of candidates running for county, state, and national offices.
On Friday, Feb. 2, Grill Country Texas BBQ is hosting a candidate meet and greet for county candidates, at 6:30 p.m. Grill Country is located at 302 S. 1st St. in Copperas Cove.
The Coryell County Republican Women (CCRW) are hosting several events in February.
The first is a High Court Candidate Forum on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2:30 p.m., at Trinity Worship Center, located at 1802 MLK Jr. Dr. in Copperas Cove. Coryell County District Attorney Dusty Boyd will be the moderator.
Current Supreme Court Justice John Phillip Devine, Place 4 will attend, as will three members of the Court of Criminal Appeals, Sharon Keller, Presiding Judge, Place 1; Barbara Hervey, Place 7; and Michelle Slaughter, Place 8, will attend.
The following weekend, the CCRW are holding a forum for candidates running for Coryell County Sheriff on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 9:30 a.m., at the same location.

The Coryell County Republican Party is also hosting two debate night events for candidates running for Coryell County Sheriff and Coryell County Constable Precinct 1, as well as candidates vying for a U.S. House of Representatives seat for District 31.
The debates will be held on Monday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m., at the Copperas Cove Public Library, and on Thursday, Feb. 22, at 6 p.m., at the Gatesville City Auditorium.

Early voting starts on Tuesday, Feb. 20 and runs through Friday, March 1, with weekend early voting dates on Feb. 24 and 25.
