Krist Kindl Markt continues through Sunday

Krist Kindl Markt got under way last night with the flip of a switch to light the tree, with Santa Claus arriving via fire truck at City Park. 
The festival is open Friday until 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.. There is no charge for admission or parking.  
Thursday night’s opening entertainment was A Touch of Country Class with Paula Fleming and Stacey Stark. 
Tonight and Saturday will be something new at the festival, a free movie in the park, with “The Polar Express” being shown at 6 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. on Saturday. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.
Headline entertainment for Friday is Trainwreck Sundays taking the stage at Fester’s House at 7 p.m., with Incognito performing Saturday at 7 p.m. 
Also this year during Krist Kindl Markt, the chamber will be holding an Ugly Sweater Contest on Saturday, Dec. that starts at 3 p.m. at Fester’s House. Age categories begin at 0-3 years of age, all the way to ages 13 and up.
Throughout the weekend, Santa Claus himself will be on site for free photos.
The 2023 Lighted Christmas Parade, is set for Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is Gumdrop Kisses & Candy Cane Wishes. The parade route begins on Avenue D at Copperas Cove High School and travels east to Cove Terrace Shopping Center. 
More than 30 vendors as well as food vendors are on hand at City Park, with returning favorites and new vendors alike. 
Also during Krist Kindl Markt, the lucky winning ticket will be drawn for the chamber’s shed raffle at noon on Sunday. The chamber has been selling tickets for $20 apiece, or six for $100. Proceeds will go toward the chamber building renovations.
