Early voting wraps up today for local races, city charter amendments

Polls have been open since Oct. 23 ahead of the Nov. 7 election. 
Copperas Cove voters will be deciding two local races as well as five city charter amendments, and also casting ballots for state constitutional amendments. 
So far, a total of 3,243 ballots have been cast in Coryell County through Nov. 2, with 34 of those being mail-in ballots.
For the Copperas Cove city council Place 7 and the charter amendment elections, a total of 884 votes have been cast so far. Place 7 incumbent Jack Smith is being challenged by candidate LaTisha Walton. Place 6 incumbent Vonya Hart is running unopposed.
A total of 1,004 votes have been cast for the Copperas Cove Independent School District board of trustees election for Place 6, between incumbent John Gallen and challenger Carl “Moose” Smith. 
These ballots were cast at the Copperas Cove early voting center. The numbers are not available as of yet for the handful of Bell County voters who can vote in the CCISD election, nor Lampasas County votes for the city council election.
A total of 1,038 votes had been cast of Wednesday in Copperas Cove for the state ballot amendments.
Early voting wraps up on Friday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. The early voting center is located in Cove Terrace Shopping Center. 
On Tuesday, Nov. 7, election day, polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 
Several locations in Copperas Cove will be open on Election Day for voters to include the Copperas Cove Civic Center, 1206 W. Avenue B; Holy Family Catholic Church, 1001 Georgetown Rd.; and Eastside Baptist Church, 1202 MLK Jr Blvd.
