One waterway of the city will get a pickup during Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful’s Waterway Cleanup on Saturday, March 4.
Volunteers are invited to join KCCB at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant.
Litter pickup supplies will be provided to participants.
There is a need to clean waterways in the community, which is why Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful schedules periodic waterway cleanups.
Local waterways consist of creeks, ponds, even drainage ditches. Trash and debris wash into the waterways during heavy rains. Blowing trash is another contributor.
Not only is it unsightly, but it can also be hazardous to the wildlife that occupy these waterways.
KCCB is also gearing up for the statewide Don’t Mess With Texas Trash-Off, which will take place on Saturday, April 1, with more information to be announced in the near future.
