The city’s two pools will soon be opening for the season, with City Park Pool opening this weekend.
City Park Pool, located at City Park on Avenue B, will be open for Memorial Day weekend starting Saturday, May 28, while South Park Pool, located at 2602 Dennis St, will open Saturday, June 4.
City Park Pool is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
South Park Pool is open Wednesday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The splash pad at South Park is currently out of service, and the city’s future renovation plans for South Park Pool do not include the splash pad amenity, according to Recreation Superintendent Caycee Hauck.
Daily admission to the pools is $3.25 for residents (ages 2-49) and $5.25 for non-residents (ages 2-49). Admission for seniors (50-64) is $2.25 for both residents and non-residents. Admission for children under the age of 2 and seniors over the age of 65 is free.
A family pass of four for the season is $85 for residents and $135 for non-residents. An individual pass for the season is $50 for residents and $70 for non-residents.
As of press time Thursday, the city has hired three managers, two lead lifeguards, nine lifeguards and four cashiers for the season.
There are still two cashier and seven lifeguard positions to be filled.
