Thursday shooting in Copperas Cove leaves one woman dead, man injured

A shooting on Thursday, April 7 in Copperas Cove in the 1000 block of Hobby Road has left a woman dead and a man being transported to Darnall Army Community Hospital in stable condition.

Shortly after 5 p.m., Copperas Cove police issued a press release that stated officers were dispatched to an address on Hobby Road around 12:25 p.m. after a report of a 9-1-1 hangup call.

“The responding officer discovered a male and female, both of whom appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds,” the press release stated.

According to police, the female succumbed to her wounds on scene.

The names of the involved parties are being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

Copperas Cove police Criminal Investigation Division is continuing to investigate and more information will be provided when it becomes available.
